iPhone, Bluetooth

When I go to connect a device for Bluetooth capability, namely my car for handsfree talk and Bluetooth audio, it connects but the spinning icon still appears next to the word "devices," as though it's still searching for something even though it's already connected. Is this typical?

I forgot to mention that I'm talking about the iPhone 4 with Verizon.

I think so, I usually disregard. I've got several Bluetooth devices. Mostly mine are auto but occasionally I have to go to that menu.
