iPhone 3G, netflix, TV

Apple iPhone - Watch TV netflixusing iphone 3G... ?

I have a 3G iphone and was wondering if I could watch netflix on my TV using my iphone with AV cable. I can get audio but not video. It works without fail when I watch something from itunes just not netflix. Am I doing something wrong?

If you get that to work please let me know as well.

Netflix doesn't support video out on the iPhone - it has to be written into the App.

-----
It works for me. No problem. Do you have the latest version of iOS?

Netflix?

Apple iPhone - Netflix?

I understand the iphone is coming to Verizon.

I have been told that I will be able to download Netflix movies from this phone if I get one. Does anyone know for sure? That would be the main reason that I would be getting the phone as I don't really know that much about it. (That's why I joined the group! *S*) And, yes, I do have the Netflix account.

Yes with the iPhone 4 you can stream Netflix movies to it. I have it and it's great.

-----
Speaking of Netflix, is there a good iPhone app to manage your Netflix queues?

I've been using Phone Flix, but it's not very reliable.

-----
I recently switched from 'Phone Flix' to 'iQueue Free'. Been working good for me.

-----
Thanks! iQueue Free seems to work well.

-----
Yes. The Netflix app.

-----
Okay, I'm obviously a little dense. How do you view your DVD Queue on the Netflix app?

-----
Sorry. Didn't think about that. I don't have a DVD queue. I have a stream only account. Sorry :)

You can't. You can manage your DVD/Bluray queue and your instant streaming queue but you can only stream a movie if it is available in streaming format.

-----
Try i.TV app.

Thanks so much for all the answers and advise from all of you that sent something in. I really want to get this phone. What I have now got to decide is do I wait until May when I can just re-do my plan or do I add another line and go ahead and get it when it comes out!!!! I know that I should wait, but not sure I can! lol

I had such a bad experience with my last phone. I made a mistake and bought it at the State Fair when they were in town. I told him that all I wanted it to do was stream Netflix. Not knowing anything about that type "stuff", I just got the phone he told me would do it. It's a great phone, it just won't do the one thing that I ask him that it would be able to do. The phone is a LG Ally. I just put it back in the box and started using my old phone. They said they would take it back, just call this guy and he would send me a box and I could sent it back. But, he never would call me back. rofl

Anyway, don't suppose any of you out there would happen to know anything about that phone. I don't think there is an app or whatever it would take to stream Netflix for the LG Ally phone?

Thanks again to all of you. I will hope there will be lots of post on different things, so that I can learn a little about the iPhone before I get it. (Can't wait!)

-----
If your contract is up in May, I would wait one additional month. Apple has offered a new iPhone each June. Yes it's hard to wait and life is short. Up to you,

-----
Don't forget Verizon if offering unlimited data for $30 for a limited time only...

-----
I have the 3GS and I stream movies to it as well. It works pretty good !! Which is why I keep unlimited.

-----
I use my iPhone 3Gs to watch Netflix movies in streaming. We assume that Verizon will have the same capability, but they you know that assume is a mighty big word.

No, you can not download the movie to the iPhone, you stream it, so I don't think you will be able to download it __from__ the iPhone to anything else. That is not even available to your computer. It is DVD through the mail, or stream it to your device.

Apple TV, what is it ?

Apple iPhone -

Greetings Bill and Group Members

I have an iPhone 4 as well as an iPad (who doesn't) and wanted to know if anyone had used apple TV with any of these components. I'd also like to know some (if any) of the cool things i could do with an apple tv and my other home equipment which consist of 2 Vizio televisions (55" & 45") and my two 32" inch Vizios usual solely as monitors for my ZT desktop. Thanks for any info you can share .....

Best from Apple iPhone TV
I don’t have an iPad, but I do have an iPhone 4, my MacBook Pro and — since Christmas — an Apple TV. I have been successful in streaming movies, photos and music from the MBP to the Apple TV. I’ve only tried streaming podcasts from my iPhone to the ATV, but that was also successful. I also have Vizio TVs (a 32” and a 19”), and they work just fine with the ATV. :)

I like playing music from computer or iDevice through TV/sound system. Also like to view photos from iPhone on TV

Orb live

Apple iPhone Apps - orb live

anyone use orb live to stream media on your computer to the iphone. Any issues? I see that the app is 10 bucks and I hate wasting my money for something that does not work as advertise.

I just installed orb and found it works great streaming to my tv via wifi and wii. Now I am wanting to use it for the iphone to save time from having to sync.

I've used Orb for many years, but the reviews for the Orb Live app don't
bode well. There is a lite free version you could try first:

I have already been trying out the free app and it works great - though limited. I guess I will go ahead and take a chance with the full app.

250,000 AppleTVs in 18 days. Is that a lot?

Apple iPhone - 250,000 AppleTVs in 18 days. Is that a lot?

On one hand, Apple's announcement that it had sold a quarter of a million AppleTVs in just 18 days seems like a solid number. At that rate, a million in a little over two months (and 100M in revenue!). Steve Jobs said he was very pleased with the sales. But is it really that many?

Apple TV
250,000 Apple iPhone TV
A few stats to consider:
- There are three times as many TVs used on earth as mobile phones, close to 5 billion.

- Apple sells 275-300,000 iOS devices a day. Those now include AppleTVs. Over the three week launch period, less than 5% of iOS devices sold were AppleTVs (btw, that̢۪s up 45,000 devices a day since new iPod/AppleTV announcement)

- AppleTV, even though it has the biggest screen, is by far the cheapest iOS device at only $99. It costs 1/5th the iPad and significantly less than half of the iPod touch.

All we're saying is there is a lot more room for growth. When people see what they can do with Airplay, things should pick up.

TV

Apple iPhone - TV

Does anyone know of a good app or website I can go to for live streaming TV?

I can't believe no one has come out with a decent app yet for our fancy Iphones. I will not go out and buy some kind of new equipment for home to be able to watch it on my phone. There has to be a good website if not an app, I would think. Some of them charge a subscription fee but I would be willing to pay something per month if the service was good.

iPhone TV

For Live TV? The only way that I am aware of is buying a Slingbox and buying the slingplayer App - neither are cheap but there are no monthly fees.

For non-live / TV on DVD there is Netflix at $8.99 a month and free App, Hulu is free and HuluPlus is I think $10.99 for 'more episodes'.

I got tv catchup http://iphone.tvcatchup.com/

iphone tv

tv on iphone

I've tried all the supposed tv apps, they are all disappointing. I worked for Sprint for a while, they have tv on thier phones, but it's disappointing, it reminded me of tv before cable, with a bad signal. I bought Cusoft DVD to Ipod software and I get dvd's of shows to tranfer to my Ipod, before you know it, you'll accumulate more shows than you can watch in a year.

I had Verizon's V-Cast for several months (I got it for the $15 unlimited data loop-hole opposed to a $50 data plan) before I got an iPhone and while not perfect, it's full length TV Show selection worked pretty well. I think if AT&T does improve it's network throughout the next year as they state they are going to they can start supporting high quality video, but it will never compare to having the media right on the device with no need to buffer.
