Using air print with 3Gs & iOS version 4.3.2

Apple iPhone pirnterApple iPhoneI have a 3Gs iPhone with iOS version 4.3.2. I used to be able to print wirelessly with my old HP 6122 (a USB, not a wireless printer) using an app called airprint (which no longer seems to be in the app store). Now when I try to use Air Print, I get a little notice come up saying "incorrect password for the HP deskjet 6122 with space for me to put in a user name and password. Has anyone else had this problem? I talked to Apple today and they said that Air Print now only will work with wireless printers and gave me a list, all being HP printers.

I have had 2 suggestions:
1. use an app called PrintBureau....anyone familiar with that? It costs $15

2. Enable the (Hidden) Administrator Account on Windows 7 or Vista Many people familiar with prior versions of Windows are curious what happened to the built-in Administrator account that was always created by default. Does this account still exist, and how can you access it? The account is created in Windows 7 or Vista, but since it's not enabled you can't use it. If you are troubleshooting something that needs to run as administrator, you can enable it with a simple command.

Note: You really shouldn't use this account for anything other than troubleshooting. In fact, you probably shouldn't use it at all.

Try Airprint Activator for Windows. I use it, works like a charmed. Created my 7 year old science project on my ipad and printed the stuff thru Airprint Activator.

Unfortunately, that is the same program that I've been using but now won't work since I upgraded my iphone software to version 4.3.2.

That's a bummer. I haven't tried after the upgrade to 4.3.2, I'll have to check on that. Luckily I only upgraded my iPod touch 4 to 4.3.2. I usually use PrintCentral to print, it's not free though and I don't have to leave my PC or Mac on just to print. Worth the hassle. PrintCentral is cheaper than PrintBureau if you just need printing without the PDF conversion capability.

Printer?

Apple iPhone - Printer?

An app on my 3Gs with iOS 4.2 running has an option to print pages. When I hit print it goes to searching for printers and returns nothing, even with a wireless printer that is also hard wired into the network. The app is Universalis.

Same thing for me.

I think you have to turn on "Printer Sharing" on your Mac.

-----
Does anyone know if there is an app for printer with a personal computer and HP? My iPhone is synced with my Dell.

-----
if you have a newer hp eprinter it can work. If you have a wired printer you can use air print (there were directions given in this forum for creating a command to use on a PC.) I am away from my computer. When I get on it I think I have the instructions which I can post. The printer must be connected to the computer with air print active for this to work. when set up properly one can print from the phone. Hp also has an app in the app store but this works with e print newer printers.

-----
If you're using an HP printer try HP iPrint from the app store. It works with my HP printer.

-----
If your printer is hooked up to a Mac (USB, Ethernet, WiFi, etc) take a look at Printopia:

This link should help you set up airprint. I made a shortcut on my desktop to the .exe file after installation so that air print doesn't have to run in the background. It worked great for me until I got a new eprinter so I don't use it much now.

HP B210A works beautifully with my iPhone. You can get it for less then $100 however replacement ink cartridges are extremely expensive.

Latest upgrade won't recognize printer

Apple iPhone - Latest upgrade won't recognize printer

My MacBook Pro, purchased about 6 months ago, worked great with my Canon Pixma ip9O portible printer until the latest OS update. Now my computer says I have to reinstall a driver. When I reinstalled from CD, it still didn't show up under printers. Does this mean my printer is no longer supported? Unfortunately a new portible printer costs about $400.00! (Fortunately I found I can still print from my old iBook.) Is the printer upgrade required so I will be able to air print from my iPhone 4, running latest version? Might be worth cost of new printer then.

Have you used Apple iPhone Printer
First I would check on the Canon site to see if they have any new updates for your old printer. That might be all you need to install.

You can also check out Printopia software for $10 that will allow printing using airprint from your iphone to most printers. They have a demo version that you can try out to see if it would work with your iphone and your old printer. Also make sure your printer is shared in your preferences settings on your Mac.
